Reviews
My family and I always come here Because it is delightful 🙂. (Naomi,12 year old)
Tuna for the spicy rolls had a bad fish smell and was not edible. We will be looking for a new sushi restaurant as we will not be returning here.
I ordered a seafood udon with rubber bands in it. At first the male waiter said it was shredded squid, I showed him this was elastic, then he called the female boss. The female boss looked at the it and took the bowl away and said she would make me a new one. The new one did not have shrimp in it, nor squid, the female boss said because it called seafood, all these things are seafood. I asked if this meant that different people make different seafood udon? She said yes! The udon noodles that came back up I'm pretty sure were the same ones I had before, with some noodles added. When I was checking out, she had a very bad attitude and didn't thank you. I took the bill to her myself and she didn't come over to serve me.
Excellent food, most Japanese restaurants in the area are quite pricey and not very affordable, I can confidently say that not only was this restaurant the most affordable in my experience but also the best quality. Incredibly fast service, huge portion sizes. My personal favorite dish is the chicken katsu, it has a splendid texture, the perfect crunch. The ambiance of the chicken really resonated with my mouth, it was perfectly tender. The sauce was perfectly sweet and I found myself unable to finish without help from some friends, and I didn't even eat lunch. My friends can vouch for how hangry I was. For reference the plate was about the size of a standard regulation ultimate Frisbee. All in all I 100% percent recommend this establishment and would without a doubt dine here again.
Sadako is legendary amongst my friends and myself. Ann Arbor has a variety of different delicious sushi options, but Sadako. Stands. Alone. Not only is the quality of their ingredients immaculate and their variety of delectable concoctions unique, but Sadako is a one-of-kind restaurant in terms of care and warmth. This restaurant has truly proved to be a second home for my girlfriend and I, and there has yet to be a bad day that cannot be turned around by a delicious Fireball Roll with Crunch. Ann Arbor is immensely lucky to have Sadako as a restaurant, and I’m eternally grateful to have it as a second home. ありがとうございます Sadako!
Easily the best sushi place around campus in Ann Arbor! I get the fireball roll with crunch on top every time. Also, their salmon quality, miso soup, and side salad ginger dressing are the best I’ve ever had. The service is really efficient, and the food is very affordable. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and we feel so at home here. I’ve been going here for 2.5 years now, and they’ve consistently been great, and JT always makes an effort to say hello. If you ever get the chance please stop by, as this is one of my all time favorite restaurants.
Nestled within the heart of the Ann Arbor, Sadako is a sushi restaurant that promises a transcendent dining experience. But what I encountered on my recent visit was nothing short of extraordinary, as I watched a fellow diner's culinary experience turn into an intellectual revelation.
Walking into Sadako, the ambiance immediately sets the stage for an extraordinary dining journey. The decor is elegant, with subtle Japanese motifs that create a sense of tranquility. Soft, ambient music wafts through the air, adding to the overall serenity of the place.
The extensive menu offers a wide variety of sushi options, from classic nigiri to creative rolls. I decided to try the Crunch Roll, which came highly recommended by the staff. The roll itself was a masterpiece – a harmonious blend of tempura shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and a hint of spicy mayo, all encased in a delicate rice and seaweed ensemble. The presentation was as pleasing to the eyes as it was to the palate.
However, what truly made this dining experience extraordinary was the man seated at the adjacent table. He ordered the same Crunch Roll, and as he took his first bite, it was as if the flavors had triggered a remarkable transformation. His eyes widened, and his demeanor shifted from ordinary to extraordinary. It was as if the flavors unlocked a hidden reservoir of intellect within him.
As he savored each bite, he began to articulate profound insights on topics ranging from quantum physics to the philosophy of existentialism. He engaged in a spirited conversation with his dining companion, who appeared equally astounded by this transformation. The entire restaurant seemed to be drawn into their discussion, as if witnessing a live intellectual performance.
This serendipitous occurrence, while unusual, added an unforgettable dimension to my dining experience at Sadako. It was as if the Crunch Roll held the key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe. The juxtaposition of culinary delight and intellectual enlightenment left me in awe.
Cozy, affordable, family-run sushi spot with very generous portions. The AC roll is my favorite! I first ate at Sadako almost 14 years ago, and I still haven’t met a ginger dressing I like as much I like theirs
